Reason 40. Chances Are

Evidence indicates that the odds are against there being an old man with a white beard called God

There are more arguments against the existence of God than for the existence of God. Faith-based people endlessly claim properties such as reincarnation and the afterlife but are always unable to provide a single instance in the billions of people that have died. Thus, I conclude that the chances are that God does not exist and as a result what is the point of wasting your life on your knees begging for forgiveness.

The odds of winning the jackpot in the National Lottery are 14 million to 1. It has been worked out that if you buy a ticket at the start of the week that you are 800 times more likely to die before the end-of-week draw than to win the jackpot. The odds of there actually being an afterlife are zillions to 1, and based on those kind of odds I'll take my chance in not believing.
